India's maritime combat power is set to get another major boost with the commissioning of an indigenous guided-missile destroyer as INS Mormugao this weekend amidst the ongoing attempts by China for grabbing strategic space in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR). The 7,400-tonne Mormugao, named after the historical port city of Goa, will be commissioned by defence minister Rajnath Singh in Mumbai on December 18.
