A UP Police team Sunday took custody of gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed from Ahmedabad's Sabarmati jail and set off by road for Prayagraj, where he will be produced in a special court Tuesday to face its verdict in the Umesh Pal kidnapping and criminal conspiracy case. The former SP MP screamed 'hatya' (murder) as he was being escorted out, insinuating a plot to kill him in custody.
