The Supreme Court on Thursday extended Sanjay Kumar Mishra's tenure as director of Enforcement Directorate by 46 days till September 15 in "larger public interest" even though it had ruled on July 11 that the last two one-year extensions given to him were illegal, and marked July 31 as the day of his exit from ED.
