On June 6, diamond artisan Vinu Moradiya, his wife Sharda, their daughter Senita (20), and son Krish (17) had consumed poison in Surat's Nana Varachha. All four died during treatment. The couple's two elder children, Rushita (25) and Parth (21), were not at home during the mass suicide.
