According to the economic data from Bihar's caste survey, nearly a crore families in the state are living on a meagre income of Rs 200 or less per day. More than 94.4 lakh families, or about a third of the total, have a monthly income of Rs 6,000 or less. The survey also revealed that 4.5% of families chose not to disclose their income. In response to this, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced plans to provide Rs 2 lakh assistance to these families to support their employment.
