Ahead of the 15th anniversary of the Mumbai attacks, Israel banned the UN-proscribed Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) that carried out the terror strike. Despite not being requested by Indian government to do so, the Israeli embassy said in a statement that Tel Aviv had formally completed all necessary procedures and had “satisfied all required checks and regulations to the result of introducing Lashkar-e-Taiba into the Israeli list of illegal terror organisations”.
