A war of words broke out between BRS and Congress soon after Election Commission stopped disbursement of Rythu Bandhu money even as both the parties appealed to EC to reconsider its decision and allow the release of financial aid to Telangana's farmers. EC had given nod for disbursement of the amount for rabi crops on November 24 on the condition that Rythu Bandhu would not be publicised and used in BRS campaign. However, on November 26, Telangana finance minister T Harish Rao said at a public meeting: "Rythu Bandhu disbursement will be made on November 28.
