Abetment only if instigation left suicide victim with no choice: SC

The Supreme Court has quashed criminal proceedings against a man charged with abetment of suicide. The court stated that to convict someone of abetting suicide, the act of instigation must be intense and in close proximity to the suicide date. The accused must have the intention to instigate the deceased to commit suicide. In this case, the alleged incident occurred more than two weeks before the suicide, making it impossible to conclude that the accused instigated the deceased to take such a step.
