West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and sought the release of pending central funds to the state before she left for Kolkata on Wednesday. Banerjee has written several letters to the PM on the issue and has met him on her earlier visits to Delhi with the same demand. After the meeting, Banerjee said the PM proposed that officials from the state and the Centre sit together and clear the issues. She added that central teams had been given all clarifications by the state government on issues raised by them.
