These guidelines, compiled by a panel of 24 top doctors, outline the medical conditions that warrant ICU admission. The guidelines also mention that most developed nations have protocols for triaging patients to ensure the judicious use of resources. They also emphasize the importance of having intensivists or critical care specialists available in ICUs.
