25% rural kids aged 14-18 can’t read Std 2 level in own tongue

ASER 2023 reveals that 43% of 14-18 year old children struggle to read English sentences, while 25% of rural children struggle with regional language texts. More than half of rural children struggle with simple division. The report also highlights the need for improvement in basic learning levels among elementary school children.
