A fire broke out at a residential building in Pitampura, Delhi, resulting in five deaths and two critical injuries. Smoke filled the staircase, preventing residents from escaping. The cause of the fire is suspected to be a short-circuit or a heater malfunction. Last year, the fire service received over 3,563 calls regarding residential fires.
