Education minister Pradhan clarified that no reserved posts in CEIs can be de-reserved. The reservations and percentage will remain as provided in the Act. Congress and teacher associations raised concerns over the de-reservation clause in UGC's draft guidelines. Pradhan told TOI: "There is no scope for ambiguity after the Central Educational Institutions (Reservation in Teachers' Cadre) Act, 2019.
