A special task force of the Uttar Pradesh police will be fully in charge of security of the Ram temple complex coming up at Ayodhya, taking over from CRPF that has been protecting the site on the directions of the Supreme Court. A senior government functionary said since CRPF was deployed at the Ram Janambhoomi site as per the orders of the Supreme Court following the demolition of the Babri structure in 1992 and that with January 22 set as the date for 'pran pratishtha' , or consecration ceremony of the Ram Lalla idol, the UP Special Security Force (SSF) will start providing comprehensive security cover at the temple.
