Congress accused Income Tax department of freezing its main bank accounts on flimsy grounds of delay in filing returns, claiming it has no money for daily expenses. Party MP and lawyer Vivek Tankha later stated that the IT appellate tribunal had on Friday afternoon allowed it to operate the accounts with a lien to the IT department.
