The defence ministry gave preliminary approval on Friday for critical capital acquisition projects worth Rs 84,560 crore, including long-range cruise missiles, anti-tank loiter munitions, sonars, radars, and torpedoes, as well as 30 specialised aircraft for spying, early warning, maritime patrol, and mid-air refuelling. The first two aircraft will be modified in Spain.
