The budget allocation for schemes dedicated to the welfare and empowerment of women and children, known as the 'gender budget', has increased by 38.6% in the 2024-25 fiscal year compared to the previous year's budget estimates. Furthermore, seven ministries have contributed to 87% of this increase through augmented allocations for women and girls.
