Questioning reluctance on part of Tamil Nadu govt for not cooperating with Enforcement Directorate in its probe into illegal sand mining case, the Supreme Court on Monday stressed that state authorities are bound by PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act) passed by Parliament, leading TN to argue that the probe itself was illegal as there was no predicate offence to warrant an ED investigation.
