Indian Navy foils another piracy attempt along Somalia coast

In a rapid and decisive move to counteract a piracy incident, the Indian Navy successfully rescued the crew of the Iranian-flagged fishing vessel Omari along the eastern coast of Somalia on Friday. The INS Sharda patrol vessel took action in the early hours of Friday, utilizing its Chetak helicopter and marine commando-equipped boats to effectively persuade the seven Somali pirates to release the 11 Iranians and eight Pakistanis on board, according to an official statement.
