Abhishek Singhvi and Harsh Mahajan tied in the election for the lone HP seat. Singhvi won the draw of lots but was later eliminated due to cross-voting by some MLAs, in accordance with Rule 75(4) of Conduct of Election Rules, 1961. Singhvi criticized BJP's "new India" philosophy.
