India topped world's arms imports in 2019-23: SIPRI

India, the fourth largest military spender, remains the world's largest arms importer. India's arms imports increased by 4.7% between 2014-18 and 2019-23 as per latest data on international arms transfers released by Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) on Monday. The flurry of emergency procurements from Russia, France, US and Israel due to four-year-long military confrontation with China is partly responsible for this.
