Navlakha claims ‘extortion’ as NIA slaps Rs 1.6 cr security bill

Gautam Navlakha, one of the accused in the Bhima Koregaon case, has been under house arrest at Mumbai's Comrade BT Ranadive Memorial Library since November 2022, accompanied by Sahba Hussain. Authorities are demanding Rs 1.64 crore for escort protection charges, and Navlakha has only paid Rs 10.4 lakh of the amount. The NIA has contested a Bombay High Court order that granted bail to Navlakha in December of the previous year.
