Rs 39k crore deals to buy missiles, air defence guns inked

The Indian Ministry of Defence has finalized five significant capital acquisition contracts amounting to Rs 39,125 crore before the fiscal year-end. The largest contract, worth Rs 19,519 crore, involves the procurement of over 220 BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles with an extended range of 450 km for frontline warships. Additionally, contracts were signed for BrahMos vertical launch systems, close-in weapon systems, high-power radars, and RD-33 aero-engines for MiG-29 fighters.
