Telangana HC has asked the state’s Congress government to report by August 27 on the time needed to establish a Backward Castes commission and conduct a survey. Following a Supreme Court directive from March 2021, this is to ensure that reserved seats for Backward Castes in local bodies do not exceed 50% of total reservations.
