The government of Kerala had a corpus of Rs 540 crore in disaster funds, with Rs 395 crore in the disaster response fund and Rs 145 crore released by the Centre after landslides. Kerala had received Rs 2,225 crore in five years for disaster response, but several states, including Kerala, had not utilized these funds fully for mitigation projects.
