Assam rhino tally up from 600 in 1960s to 3k, poaching down 86% since 2016

Assam's one-horned rhinoceros population has increased fivefold from the 1960s to 2024, now exceeding 3,000. The state government credits this rise to conservation efforts such as habitat expansion and anti-poaching measures. Kaziranga National Park is home to most of these rhinos, highlighting its importance in their preservation.
