Karnataka Deputy CM D K Shivakumar announced that all institutional buildings in Bengaluru must hoist the Kannada flag on Rajyotsava, Nov 1, to mark 50 years since Mysore was renamed Karnataka. He emphasized the importance of Kannada and cautioned against forcibly imposing the rule.
