For the past few years, a bitter political rivalry has been brewing in Kalyan between BJP MLA Ganpat Gaikwad and Shiv Sena Kalyan unit chief Mahesh Gaikwad. Additionally, they have been embroiled in a land dispute in their shared village. Sources from the BJP revealed that leaders from both the Sena and BJP had instructed the two leaders not to engage in targeting each other.
