Commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal's absence from the first two days of WTO ministerial meet has sparked speculation about his political ambitions. WTO chief Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala revealed that Goyal is currently engaged in political activities and is running for a seat in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls from Mumbai. However, she assured that Goyal will join the meeting soon. His responsibilities as the textiles minister and the Bharat Tex event in Delhi caused a slight delay in his arrival.
